2009 Foxglove ZINFANDEL (Paso Robles, Cal.)

AVOID.  This was flat, heavy, and lifeless.  D-  It was moderately-priced ($14 and change at Spec's), but it sucked.

really??
you consider the Foxglove 2009 Zinfandel flat and lifeless?
are you sure your bottle wasn't corked? that is not the profile of this wine.

There was no cork taint. If bottles you've had aren't like the one I had, then that suggests that either the bottle I had was from a shipment that was heat-damaged (certainly a possibility in Houston), or these guys do different bottlings, which isn't unusual for a "negociant" style winery that buys and bottles already fermented juice. I'm not sure which of these (or some other explanation) it is, but I am definitely not going to drop another $14 to try to solve this mystery.
